Dear Folly Friends,

I finally have pictures to share with you of Kaena´s Newfoundland Wedding.

I am sure most of our friends have never had the pleasure of visiting Newfoundland - but I must tell you that these are the friendliest, kindest people that I have ever met. What a delightful and charming island - I felt like I had stepped back in time!

The theme of the wedding was a Winter Wonderland of Snowflakes. Each guest received a beautiful snowflake pin to wear during the wedding and a goody bag with a special snowflake made of shells.

The most unusual tradition (and the most fun I might add) is the "Screech In". In order to become an honorary Newfoundlander and be enrolled in the "Royal Order of Screechers" you have to be "Screeched In" and it has to be done properly! All the foreigners or outsiders are asked to kneel, then you are asked to eat the Newfoundland steak (bologna), kiss the Cod (icky), consume the Golden Elixir Screech (Rum), speak the Newfoundlandish - then you are knighted by the oar and become an Honorary Newfoundlander! And the famous toast is "Long may your big jib draw". Great fun had by all.

The happy couple have completed the Wedding Marathon and are living Happily Ever After in New York City.

As Spring approaches, I leave you with this thought:

"Each day is given to us as a new season of spring. The thoughts, deeds, dreams and efforts of today will provide tomorrow´s harvest."

Magic Always,
