Greetings FairyLand,

We had an amazing Kirks Folly weekend with our very special guests, the winners of the Charity eBay Auction for Autism (which raised over $13,000 for The Autism Project of Rhode Island).

Joanne and George arrived from Indiana and Bernadette and Sandra arrived from California on Wednesday, October 31st. Brother George drove them to Newport to spend a few days resting, sightseeing, touring the Newport Mansions and shopping. They were picked up in Newport on Friday and taken to the famous Factory Sale. We all waited anxiously to greet them and give them their Honorary Guest badges that were custom made for them by artist Donna Antonucci. They were given their Gift Certificates and let loose to Shop, Shop, Shop - and boy they did. They had so many goodies, including an amazing Gift Bag worth more than $1,000.00, that we had to ship everything home for them - they never could have made it through the metal detectors.

On Friday evening, the family and our guests all went to dinner at our favorite local Italian Restaurant "Basta". It was such fun getting to know each other in a more intimate surrounding. Then off to bed to rest up for the last day of the sale.

Saturday - another crazy shopping day and meeting everyone from far and wide. Saturday evening was our dinner at Seaview. We had a lovely evening sitting by the fire having hors d'oeuvres and our special drink of the evening "Cosmomossa," part Cosmopolitan and part Mimosa-that certainly relaxed us.

We feasted on Pumpkin Squash Soup with Black Bean Puree, Toasted Goat Cheese over Shaved Apple Salad with a Sweet Wine Vinaigrette, an Amuse Bush of Lemon Sorbet in lemon shells, Chicken Marbella with Wild Rice and Broccoli, French Baguette and a Flaming Smores Chocalatini Desert.

On Sunday morning, we joined our guests for a farewell brunch at the Hotel Providence. It was a wonderful relaxing time talking about life, love and the antics of "Dinner at Seaview". We have 4 new wonderful friends.
